Senior (3+2 years) Research Fellow Positions in Particle/Cosmology Theory
Center for Theoretical Physics of the Universe (CTPU) at the Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Korea invites applications for senior research fellow positions in Theoretical High Energy Physics and Cosmology, broadly defined, which can start in the Fall 2015. The initial appointments will be for 3 years, and can be extended for additional 2 years subject to the review based on the performance.
IBS (http://www.ibs.re.kr/en/) is a new government-funded research institute in Korea, aiming to construct a global base for basic science research and cultivate the next generation of research leaders. CTPU (http://ctpu.ibs.re.kr/) directed by Professor Kiwoon Choi is a rapidly growing group currently consisting of 4 faculty members [Kiwoon Choi, Kenji Kadota, Sanghyeon Chang, and Hye-Sung Lee (to join this fall)] and 13 postdoctoral research fellows (including 6 new fellows to join this fall).
The newly created position of the senior research fellow aims to recruit an outstanding researcher who has enough experience and can conduct an independent research program. We also highly encourage collaborations with the postdoctoral research fellows in the center. The interests of our group cover broad areas of high energy physics and cosmology, including the physics beyond the standard model, collider phenomenology, dark matter, early Universe phenomenology and the large scale structure of Universe. We welcome the existing or complementary areas for the senior research fellow.
We have strong ties to nearby institutions for collaborations, in particular, the high energy physics group at KAIST (http://top.kaist.ac.kr/) and the cosmology group at KASI (http://cosmology.kasi.re.kr/). We also have close relations with the experimental groups hosted by IBS, Center for Axion and Precision Physics Research (CAPP, http://capp.ibs.re.kr) and Center for Underground Physics (CUP, http://cupweb.ibs.re.kr/).
Applications should consist of a CV, a publication list, a research statement and three or more letters of recommendation, and be submitted through Academic Jobs Online. For the full consideration, the application and letters should be submitted by July 15, 2015 although the later applications may still be considered if the position is not filled.
